INTRODUCTION:

Central Library has an excellent infrastructure and located at 2nd floor. It is a most lively place on the campus providing a safe, comfortable and friendly environment that enables learning and advancement of knowledge, and promotes innovation. It has an excellent collection of books, journals, periodicals, newspapers, CDs, DVDs, e-books, audio books, databases etc. All its operations are computerized using ERP software. Library follows open access system that allows users a direct access to the library collection. Library implemented barcode technology for circulation. It is well equipped with reference books of all discipline. The mission of the Central Library is to facilitate creation of new knowledge through acquisition, organization and dissemination of knowledge resources and providing value added services.

Library Rules for Circulation:

  1. Library users must bring their ID card while entering in the Library.
  2. Persons listed below can use the Library services:
    • Students of the college
    • Teaching staff members
    • Non teaching staff members
    • External students other than institutes as approved by the principal
    • External Guests, as approved by the Principal.
  1. The library users must keep their bags and other personal belongings at the property counters at their own risk.
  2. Safe custody of issued books is the responsibility of users. 
  3. Maximum number of books to be issued to the member is as below:
  • Student :    Three Books
  • Teaching Staff :    Eight Books
  • Non-Teaching Staff :    Four Books
  1. Students will be issued books for a maximum period of 15 days. Books must be returned on or before the due date. For late return of books, overdue charges will be collected as per rules in force. 
  2. The Book Bank scheme is applicable only for the regular students. For details of the scheme contact Librarian.
  3. The Library reserves the right to call back any issued book/item at any time.
  4. Users are requested to verify the physical condition of the book/document at the time of its issuing. They will be held responsible for any damage caused thereafter.
  5. If the book / property is damaged or lost, it must be compensated by either by replacing or paying the appropriate amount.
  6. Users are not allowed to mark, write in the book or spoil the book in any manner or damage any property belonging to library.
  7. No material from the Library should be taken out without prior permission.
  8. Stealing or attempting to steal a library document or any of the library property is an offence. Appropriate disciplinary action will be taken against the offender.
  9. The discretion/decision of the Principal, on any matter pertaining to the Library Services shall be final and will be binding on all library users.
  10. Follow rules of reading room & digital library displayed separately while using these facilities.

 

Reading Room – Rules for Use 

  1. The Library will remain open from 08:30 am. In addition during semester examinations working hours may be extended as per requirement.
  2. Users first sign in the entry register at the entrance, before being allowed to approach library facilities.
  3. Student should wear college I- card / uniform to avail reading room facility and produce it, as and when asked by the library staff.
  4. Users should deposit their personal belongings at the property counter. They are advised not to leave cash and other valuable items in their belongings and library shall not take any responsibility for the same.
  5. Strict silence, discipline and decorum should be maintained in the library.
  6. Use of personal mobile phones / laptops is allowed only for the educational purpose.
  7. Handle all the library property carefully to avoid damage.
  8. Any marking in the books, magazines, journals, and newspapers is not permitted.
  9. Stealing or attempting to steal a library document or any of the library property is an offence. Appropriate disciplinary action will be taken against the offender.
  10. Suggestions on all aspects of the library services are highly appreciated.
  11. Violation of any of these rules and regulations will lead to disciplinary action.
  12. Reading room facility is available for the regular as well as ex-students.

 Digital Library – Rules for Use                                          

  1. Student should wear college I- Card / uniform to avail reading room facility and produce it, as and when asked by the library staff.
  2. Digital Library is provided only for the purpose of educational and research endeavours.
  3. Members should not share their net access ID and passwords with others.
  4. Users should use computer resources in an effective, efficient, appropriate, ethical and legal manner.
  5. Upon completion of their session users should logout the computer and should remove extraneous materials and papers before departing.
  6. Stealing or attempting to steal a library document or any of the library property is an offence. Appropriate disciplinary action will be taken against the offender.
  7. Any violations of the above stated rules and regulations may results in loss of computer access privileges and disciplinary action.

Developing Library Network (DELNET) is a major Resource Sharing Library Network in “South Asia”. It networks more than 900 libraries in India and Six other Countries and offers access to about fifty lakh records of Books, Journals, Articles, and other documents.

National Digital Library of India (NDL India):  NDL is an all-digital library that stores information (metadata) about different types of digital contents including books, articles, videos, audios, thesis and other educational materials relevant for users from varying educational levels and capabilities. NPTEL :  NPTEL is an acronym for National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning which is an initiative by seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee) and Indian Institute of Science (IISc) for creating course contents in engineering and science. Five engineering branches (Civil, Computer Science, Electrical, Electronics and Communication and Mechanical) and core science programmes that all engineering students are required to take in their undergraduate engineering programme in India were chosen initially. All articles in open access journals which are published by Elsevier have undergone peer review and upon acceptance are immediately and permanently free for everyone to read and download.

  1. Shodhganga:  Shodhganga is an Open Access Repository of full-text theses submitted to universities in India. Membership is not required to browse, view, search and download theses available in Shodhganga. However, INFLIBNET signs MoUs with universities so as to facilitate submission of electronic version of theses into Shodhganga and synopses/approved research proposals into Shodhgangotri. The eligible universities that signs MoUs with INFLIBNET Centre on Shodhganga are provided access to anti-plagiarism software. Colleges are not eligible for this benefit.  Knowledge Enrichment Book List: ( Rare Book List)

The institute also has good collections of reference books along with technical journals. The library is equipped with the handbooks on the subjects such as mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, design data handbook, gear design handbook ,  handbook on advance concrete technology, concrete mix design handbook, fluid power design handbook, machine tool design handbook, Jurans quality handbook  renewable energy etc provide an important reference to the students and the faculty.

 The institute has purchased standard references by considering the importance of the subject. The books on soft skills, personality development, interview techniques, quantitative aptitude, GATE preparation guide etc are available in the library. These collections are available as follows.
